Ladder Racks & Bed Racks for Full Size Trucks

Choosing a Rack for an Open-Bed Truck

These racks are for trucks with no cap

The racks on this page are built to fit full size pickups with an open bed and no camper shell over it. If your truck has a cap, topper, or camper shell, you need a rack designed to sit over it instead — those are sized to cap height rather than cab height.

Cab height and bed length both matter

Holman Pro Racks are sized to the height of your truck's cab and the length of your bed. Cab heights come in 22", 23", and 24" versions, and rack lengths run 150", 172", and 182" depending on whether you have a regular, extended, or crew cab and a standard or long bed. A crew cab with a short bed takes a different rack than a regular cab with an 8 ft bed on the same truck. Use the vehicle selector above to narrow to your configuration.

Ladder rack or bed rack?

A ladder rack spans the bed and carries ladders, pipe, and lumber above it, leaving the bed open underneath. A Ranger Design truck bed rack builds a structure into the bed itself, and can be combined with a toolbox and canopy to make an enclosed, lockable work area. Ladder racks suit trades that need bed space free; bed racks suit trades carrying tools and material that need to stay secure and dry.

Common questions

Will these racks fit a truck with a camper shell?
No. The racks on this page are built for full size trucks with an open bed. A truck with a cap, topper, or camper shell needs a rack sized to sit over the cap, which is a different product line.

How do I know what cab height I have?
Holman Pro Racks are offered for 22", 23", and 24" cab heights, measured from the bed rail to the top of the cab. If you are not sure, call Work Van Equipment at 800-533-7722 with your truck's year, make, and cab style and a specialist will confirm it.

What does forklift loadable mean?
A forklift-loadable rack is built so material can be loaded onto it directly by forklift at a supply yard rather than lifted by hand. Holman Pro Rack full kits on this page are forklift loadable, which matters if you regularly pick up lumber, pipe, or drywall.

What is the difference between a truck bed rack and a ladder rack?
A ladder rack spans above the bed and leaves it open underneath, while a Ranger Design truck bed rack builds into the bed and can be combined with a toolbox and canopy for enclosed, lockable storage.

Can I carry lumber and pipe on these racks?
Yes. These are commercial-grade racks built to carry ladders, lumber, pipe, and conduit on a working truck. Check the individual product listing for the rated capacity of the rack you are considering.
