Sprinter and Metris are different vans

The Mercedes Sprinter is a full-size cargo van and the Mercedes Metris is a mid-size van, and the two do not share shelving or partitions. Sprinter equipment is taller and longer than a Metris will accept. The Metris sits between compact vans like the Ford Transit Connect and full-size vans like the Sprinter, and takes its own vehicle-specific parts.

Standard roof and high roof mean different things

Mercedes labels the shorter Sprinter configuration the standard roof, while many buyers and upfitters call it the low roof. Both terms refer to the same van. The high roof Sprinter, listed here as tall roof, allows most people to stand upright inside. Shelving and partitions built for one roof height will not fit the other, and bulkhead partitions in particular are cut to the roof profile and cannot be adapted.

Sprinter sidewalls taper

The Mercedes Sprinter has sidewalls that taper inward toward the roof, unlike the Ram ProMaster, which is closer to vertical. Sprinter shelving is shaped to that taper, which is why Sprinter shelving is a vehicle-specific part and will not transfer to a Ford Transit or Ram ProMaster.

Wheelbase has to match separately

Mercedes Sprinter vans are offered in 144" and 170" wheelbase, plus a 170" extended version. Roof height and wheelbase are two independent measurements and both have to match. A 144" wheelbase Sprinter takes shorter shelving runs than a 170", and a 170" extended Sprinter takes longer runs than a standard 170".
