Choosing Van Shelving

Start with your roof height

Van shelving is sized to a specific roof height, and a low roof unit will not fit a mid roof or high roof van of the same model. Ranger Design B4 Series steel shelving is built for low roof vans, and B5 Series steel shelving is built for high roof vans. Ranger Design also offers steel, deep steel, and aluminum units for low roof and compact vans, and a 12" book shelf for mid and high roof cargo vans.

Then choose your width

Ranger Design van shelving runs from 36" to 96" wide. Holman EZ Adjustable steel van shelves come in 26" compact, 32", 42", and 52" widths, with tall 60" high versions in 32", 42", and 52". Measure the usable wall length in your van before ordering — a 148" wheelbase Ford Transit takes different shelving than a 136" Ram ProMaster.

Steel or aluminum?

Steel van shelving costs less and carries more weight, making it the right choice for heavy tools, parts, and demanding jobsites. Aluminum van shelving weighs significantly less, which preserves payload capacity and fuel economy — worth the premium on high-mileage vans or when hauling heavy material.

What else you may need

Ranger Design van shelving requires a vehicle-specific install kit, sold separately, with driver-side and passenger-side kits priced individually. Work Van Equipment also carries Holman folding shelf units that fold flat against the van wall in 36" to 72" widths, Holman workbenches with hardwood tops in 32", 42", and 52" widths, and complete shelving bundles for a full van.

Common questions

Will low roof van shelving fit a high roof van?

Do I need a separate install kit for Ranger Design shelving?
Yes. Ranger Design van shelving requires a vehicle-specific install kit that is purchased separately, and driver-side and passenger-side kits are sold individually. Confirm your van's make, model, and wheelbase before ordering.

Is steel or aluminum van shelving better for a work van?
